I forgot to mention that when my brother and nephew and I were having dinner at Three Happiness in Chinatown the week before last we saw the Holiday train pass by on the Red Line. In the fifteen years I've lived in Chicago, I've never seen it before. We were sitting there enjoying our egg rolls and hot and sour soup when I happened to look up at the Cermak station and saw it come by. It was bright and colorful and I was excited to see it, even though I usually hate it when Christmas starts before Thanksgiving has come and gone.
For those of you who don't live around here, one of the El trains is decorated for Christmas, with one of the cars being a flatbed that carries Santa and his sleigh. The link provides a schedule; I thought you just had to be lucky to see it.
It's taking me longer to settle in than I thought so my show-and-tell show will have to wait another day or so.
